Brunello di Montalcino 2018 expresses all the peculiarities of the challenging vintage. In the glass, the wine is deep ruby red in color. On the nose it is very intense and broad, showing off the typical notes of the denomination: small red berries, black cherries, with a hint of spices. The sip is complex and deep, with a very elegant and refreshing finish, thanks to the excellent acidity.

Wine Advocate 92 "Robust and powerful from the start, the Castiglion del Bosco 2018 Brunello di Montalcino shows broad shoulders and ample brawn. But at the end of the day, the wine's concentration remains on the medium to medium-rich side of the spectrum. It stays firmly within the boundaries of Sangiovese. Dark fruit and blackcurrant segue to savory notes of toasted spice, black olive, earth, and rusty nail. This is an ample production of 180,000 bottles."

Wonderful aromas of flowers, plums, terracotta and white pepper. Intense, yet ever so subtle. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a long and intense finish. Shows excellent length.

Good deep red. Complex aromas of redcurrant, raspberry, graphite, mocha, and mint. Focused and suave with very attractive sweetness and standout purity to its flavors of red berries and candied flowers. Finishes with polished tannins and outstanding length.

Tightly wound, with tart cherry, graphite, earth and cigar box flavors, aligned to an edge of firm tannins. Flirts with rusticity, yet remains tense and smoldering. Should gain more length as it opens. Best from 2023 through 2039.
